Terms of Service

Effective: 11 April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of mxto.ai and the mx2ai tools ("Service"), operated by Ontology Labs (Pty) Ltd ("Ontology Labs", "we", "us").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

mxto.ai provides AI-powered semantic analysis and productivity tools for the Mendix™ platform. The Service operates as a companion to Mendix™ Studio Pro, augmenting your development workflow with semantic analysis, impact tracking, complexity metrics, and AI-assisted development guidance.

The Service is accessed through Claude Code and AI coding assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

2. Your Mendix™ Account and Credentials

When using the Service:

• You connect your own Mendix™ account using your own Personal Access Token (PAT).
• All Mendix™ Model SDK calls execute in your security context, under your Mendix™ licence.
• You are responsible for compliance with your own Mendix™ licence terms, including any restrictions on SDK usage.
• Ontology Labs does not access the Mendix™ platform on your behalf and is not a party to your Mendix™ licence agreement.

3. Your Data and Models

You represent that you have the necessary rights, licences, and permissions to analyse the Mendix™ application models you connect to the Service.

• Your input: The Mendix™ application models you connect are your property. Ontology Labs does not claim ownership of your application models or data.
• Analysis output: Semantic analysis results, complexity metrics, impact reports, and other outputs generated by the Service from your models belong to you.
• RSC representations: Where the Service generates Reified Semantic Calculus (RSC) representations of your application logic, the RSC output is your property. The RSC calculus, transformation engine, and underlying technology remain the intellectual property of Ontology Labs.

4. Intellectual Property

• Your IP: You retain all rights to your Mendix™ application models, data, and analysis outputs.
• Our IP: The Service, including the mx2ai tools, semantic analysis engine, RSC transformation technology, AYIOS platform, and all associated software, documentation, and algorithms, are the intellectual property of Ontology Labs. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
• Use the Service to analyse application models you do not have rights to access.
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Service or its outputs in a manner that competes with the Service.
• Remove or obscure any proprietary notices from the Service.

6. Early Access

The Service is currently in early access. During this period:

• Features, APIs, and capabilities may change without notice.
• The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis without service level commitments.
• We may limit, suspend, or discontinue access at our discretion.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. ONTOLOGY LABS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that analysis outputs will be complete or accurate in all cases.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ONTOLOGY LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts paid by you to Ontology Labs for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Platforms

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including the Mendix™ platform and Claude Code. Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service. Ontology Labs is not responsible for the availability, functionality, or terms of third-party platforms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gauteng, South Africa.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
